Magewell Expands Product Line with USB Capture HDMI 4K Pro

Magewell has introduced a new model to its established product line, the USB ⁢Capture HDMI‌ 4K Pro, which captures⁤ video sources ​with up to 4K⁤ resolution at 60 fps. The device will‍ be⁤ showcased at IBC2024 in Amsterdam, Netherlands, from September 13th to 16th, 2024.

Key ‌Features of the USB Capture HDMI 4K⁤ Pro

The USB Capture HDMI 4K ​Pro enables computers, including laptops, to capture AV signals via⁢ a USB interface, without requiring an additional power ⁤supply. It leverages the 20Gbps USB transfer performance on compatible host systems ⁤to capture ‍4K video at higher frame rates and resolutions.

When paired with a host PC equipped with a 20Gbps USB 3.2 Gen2 x ⁣2 interface, the USB Capture​ HDMI 4K Pro can capture HDMI inputs up to 4096×2160 (including 3840×2160 Ultra HD), 60fps, and 4:4:4 chroma. The device is‌ also compatible with legacy USB 3.2, USB 3.1, ​and USB 3.0 interfaces and can capture smaller sized⁢ video signals.

Compatibility and Software ⁢Support

The USB Capture HDMI 4K Pro is compatible with Windows, Mac, Linux, and Chrome⁤ OS and features plug-and-play operation with driver-free setup and automatic input signal format detection. In addition to extensive software compatibility via the UVC specification, an SDK is available for third-party developers⁤ to take advantage of new features such as the ability to capture 10-bit HDR (High Dynamic Range) signals in their software.

Customization ⁢and Control

For users who want to manually tweak the settings of the USB Capture HDMI 4K Pro, Magewell’s USB Capture Utility software allows users to‌ configure capture ⁤parameters, upgrade the device’s firmware, view and check detailed status information, ‍etc. The latest version of the⁢ utility ‍also supports older⁢ models⁤ of​ the USB Capture Family and adds‌ the ability to turn the​ audio capabilities of the device on/off.
