Starting today, visionOS 2 is available, bringing new spatial computing experiences to Apple Vision Pro users around the world. It enables users to transform existing photos into spatial photos with amazing depth and dimension, intuitive new hand gestures make interacting with Vision Pro faster and easier, and powerful enhancements to key visionOS apps and experiences take spatial computing to the next level.

Create, relive and share spatial memories

With visionOS 2, Apple Vision Pro users can transform 2D images in their Photos library into spatial photos with natural depth and dimension, bringing past memories to life. With just a tap, visionOS 2 leverages advanced machine learning algorithms to breathe new life into 2D photos, allowing users to relive and reconnect with their precious memories in ways never before possible.

With SharePlay in the Photos app, users can easily share content from their library with friends and family, including beautiful spatial photos and videos captured with the new iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro. With SharePlay, users can connect with others as spatial personas and enjoy life-size panoramas and scroll through their favorite shared albums while feeling as if everyone is physically together in the same room. Additionally, the Photos app has been redesigned with visionOS 2 to help users keep their library organized, making it easier to quickly find spatial photos, videos and more. Users can also crop videos in their Photos library at the scale that best suits their workflow.

This fall, Canon will release all-new Spatial Lenses for its popular EOS R7 digital camera, enabling the EOS R7 to capture beautiful spatial videos, and professional users will be able to edit spatial videos with Final Cut Pro for Mac and upload them to Vimeo for others to experience with Apple Vision Pro.

Control visionOS with new hand gestures

visionOS 2 makes interacting with Apple Vision Pro even faster and easier. Building on Vision Pro’s innovative spatial interface, visionOS 2 introduces new gestures that make it even more convenient to access Home view and other features. Users can hold their hand in front of them and tap their finger to quickly bring up Home view, or turn their hand over to see the time, check battery percentage, adjust volume or access Control Center.
