Job Title: Academic Program Manager
Job Type: Permanent
Location: London (Hybrid working)
Starting Date: January 2025
Key Responsibilities
- Manage local Coordinators remotely to ensure effective program delivery
- Handle host family information received from local Coordinators prior to Japanese student arrivals in the UK
- Create and customize educational/intercultural programs to meet the needs of our students
- Collaborate with partners in Japan to discuss program content and ensure alignment with our company’s goals
- Conduct regular meetings with team members to ensure program objectives are maintained and exceeded
- Provide clear and detailed reports to the General Manager on program progress and outcomes
- Conduct new staff member training as necessary to ensure a smooth onboarding process
- Work closely with the Academic Planning Manager to create supporting English materials for our programs
- Provide exceptional customer service to Japanese school groups and senior teachers arriving in the UK
Requirements and Skills
- Understand the importance of providing excellent customer service to Japanese clients
- Have a good knowledge of EFL lesson plans and curriculum design
- Able to identify suitable program types for clients based on their needs and preferences
- Hold a valid UK driver’s license and have experience driving in the UK
- Understand the UK school system and have experience approaching public and private schools to discuss intercultural events
- Proficient in MS Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Basic understanding of Japanese culture and language would be beneficial
- Ability to use MS Access or other database software would be advantageous
- Background in education would be advantageous
