The Waste Management ​and Sanitation Company (SGDS SA), a ⁢single-member⁣ limited company created ⁤by the Beninese⁢ State, is​ governed by the laws ⁣and regulations ⁢in force in the Republic of Benin. The company’s statutes were revised ⁣by decree No. 2021-181 of April 28, 2021.

SGDS SA is seeking to strengthen its workforce in the Liquid Waste Department and is launching a recruitment notice for a Head of⁣ Station Management and the Faecal Sludge Treatment Division.

Job Description and Desired Profile

General Mission

Under the authority of the Head of the Liquid Waste Department, the Head of the Faecal⁤ Sludge⁣ Treatment Station Management Division will oversee all activities ⁣related to the⁢ operation of the Faecal Sludge Treatment Stations‍ and wastewater purification. The successful candidate will ensure ​compliance with the leasing⁢ contract,​ the proper​ application‍ of the clauses of the technical specifications⁤ of the operation, and the quality of the by-products resulting from the treatment⁤ of⁣ wastewater.

The candidate will also ensure compliance with standards ‌and regulations relating to the management and operation ‍of faecal‍ sludge and wastewater treatment ⁤stations in Benin. In the event of ‍environmental non-compliance, the candidate will inform their line manager, propose corrective measures, and ensure that the solutions adopted are implemented.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the operation of ‌Faecal Sludge Treatment Stations and wastewater purification
• Ensure compliance with the leasing contract and technical specifications of⁣ the operation
• Monitor the quality of ‍by-products resulting from the treatment of wastewater
• Ensure compliance with standards and regulations relating to the‍ management and operation of faecal sludge and wastewater treatment stations in Benin
• Propose corrective measures in the event of environmental non-compliance

Desired Profile

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in waste management and sanitation, with experience in ​the⁢ operation of faecal sludge treatment stations ​and wastewater purification. The​ candidate‌ should ⁢also have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in‍ a team⁤ environment.
