Tsinghua University Laboratory Animal Research and ​Use ​Plan

All work related to the Animal Center, from opening access cards, ordering animals, participating in training, and applying for⁤ “ethical certification” for fund ​projects, ⁣needs to be linked to the ‍valid ‌”Tsinghua‌ University Laboratory Animal Research and Use Plan”,⁢ i.e. Animal ​Protocol. Without a valid Animal Protocol, no related experiments can be carried out.

Scope of Application

The scope of application for ⁢the Tsinghua University ⁣Laboratory Animal ⁣Research and Use⁢ Plan includes the following:

1. Initial Application,⁣ Three-Year Review,⁢ and ​Modifications

Please download the Animal Protocol‍ template: Form Download. During the implementation of the approved⁤ Animal Protocol, if‍ the following situations occur,‌ you must also fill in​ this template again and make a new ⁤application:

• Changing animal species;
• Change PI;
• Added ‍tests not related to the original Animal Protocol;
• Changing⁢ a nonsurvival procedure to a survival procedure, or adding a survival procedure;
• Change from single ‌survival ​surgery to multiple survival surgeries;
• Application for​ a three-year review or ⁢extension;

2. Application for Subsequent Adjustment

The following situations require submission of the “Application for Subsequent ​Adjustment ⁤of Tsinghua University’s Laboratory Animal Research and⁤ Use Plan”:

• Add other strains of⁣ the same species;
• Change the sex of animals;
• Animal populations do not change by more than 20%;
• Change or add nonsurvivorship surgery;
• Increase the number⁤ of specimen collections and testing associated with this AP, ​provided that the ⁣approach is within the scope of IACUC approval;
• Change anesthetic and sedative agents, provided that the agents are ‌within​ the range approved by the IACUC;
• Change the method of euthanasia, provided that the method is within the scope of what has been approved by ‍the IACUC;
• Change the‌ title of the AP;
• Increase or decrease the number of ​experimental staff;
• Increase the number of applications ⁢for non-opening hours;

3. Live Animal Import and Export Application

4. New Method to Increase or Decrease Experimental Staff

New method to‌ add or remove lab staff: You can contact the AP administrator of this lab at MyMice System to add​ or remove members in the experiment. Detailed method of adding or removing members: ‌ Reference Documentation ⁢(Only available on the campus network)
