Symptoms
When using Ultra High Definition (UHD) displays on Dell Precision 5560 and XPS 9510, the KVM remote console connection fails while connected to a computer with Intel Active Management Technology (AMT).
Cause
The issue occurs because the UHD (3840*2400) LCD screen resolution on Dell Precision 5560 and XPS 9510 exceeds the resolution range supported by Intel Management Engine.
Solution
To resolve the issue, lower the LCD screen resolution to a range supported by KVM Intel ME Design. This will allow remote console access.
Steps to Change LCD Screen Resolution:
- Navigate to System > Display > Advanced settings > Display 1 and click on View adapter properties for.
- In the Adapter tab, click on List All Modes and select 1920 x 1200, True Color (32 bit), and 60 Hertz. Click OK.
- Verify that the LCD screen resolution has been changed to 1920 x 1200.
