Unlock the Future of STEM: Seinan Gakuin University Earns Prestigious Certification for Innovative Math, Data Science, and AI Education Program
Certified as “Mathematics, Data Science, and AI Education Program” by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology
Our university has revamped its curriculum by offering new courses related to knowledge and skills in mathematics, data science, and AI, starting in 2023. We are offering “Data Literacy,” a required course for all faculties and departments, “Data Science Basics (Data Analysis),” which teaches the basic concepts and application examples of data science and data engineering, and “Data Science Basics (AI Application),” which teaches the basic concepts and application examples of AI.
In addition, we are also offering “Data Science Practice,” a course in which industry and academia work together to analyze real-world problems using actual data and find solutions. We are pleased to announce that we have applied to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology’s “Mathematics, Data Science and AI Education Program Certification System” and, as a result of the selection process, have been certified/selected as follows.
- Mathematics, Data Science, and AI Education Program Certification System (Literacy Level)
- Mathematics, Data Science, and AI Education Program Certification System (Literacy Level Plus)
- Mathematics, Data Science, and AI Education Program Certification System (Applied Basic Level)
The certification is valid until March 31, 2029 (Reiwa 11). Among the programs certified under this system, initiatives that are particularly outstanding in terms of class content, learning support, learning effects, etc. are selected as “plus” programs. Of the private universities that have applied so far, there are not many that have been certified as both a literacy level and an applied basic level as a university, and have also received ”plus” selection at either level.
About the Mathematics, Data Science, and AI Education Program Certification System
This is a system in which the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology certifies and selects excellent educational programs that meet certain requirements from among regular curriculum educational programs in mathematics, data science, and AI.
