Unlock the Secret to a Fuller Head of Hair: Groundbreaking IL Science Reveals the Power of Microcurrent LED Scalp Care in Combating Hair Loss

Unlock the Secret to a Fuller Head of Hair: Groundbreaking IL Science Reveals the Power of Microcurrent LED Scalp Care in Combating Hair Loss

November 4, 2024 Catherine Williams Health

[서울=뉴스핌] Reporter Lee Na-young = IL Science announced on the 4th that it has proven the technical effectiveness of light-emitting diodes using silicon lenses and microcurrent stimulation on the effects on the scalp and hair.

IL Science participated in joint research and verification of technical effectiveness with Nambu University and the Korea Dermatological Research Institute. This technology was entered and awarded at the Geneva International Invention Exhibition in Switzerland together with Atomy.

In this study, a ‘light emitting diode’ with a silicon lens that emits a wavelength of 40 to 630 nanometers (nm) and a ‘composite light’ using near infrared rays, a frequency of 0.1 to 1.2 milliampere (Ma) at 10 to 50 hertz (Hz), are used. We compared and investigated the effects on the scalp and hair during microcurrent stimulation.

A total of 60 clinical subjects participated and were asked to wear a scalp care device on their scalp for 20 minutes a day for 4 weeks, and then looked at changes in various indicators. Some indicator groups showed improvements in scalp elasticity, scalp sensitivity, hair gloss, hair tensile strength, hair thickness, number of hair fallouts, and microcirculation. Through this, it was confirmed that blood flow and scalp and hair indicators were improved by simultaneous stimulation of light-emitting diodes and microcurrent.

Microcurrent, a core technology applied to scalp care devices, is known to have cell regeneration and activation effects similar to bioelectric current flowing in the human body. According to ‘ACS Nano’, a world-renowned SCI-level journal of the American Chemical Society, it has been proven that microcurrent is effective in promoting the proliferation of hair follicles and increasing the speed of hair growth.

An IL Science official said, “The market size of scalp care devices using the world’s first silicone lens for LEDs developed is expected to be KRW 27 trillion in 2025. The global healthcare market is KRW 690 trillion, which is a market with very rapid growth.” “We look forward to expansion in the market by leveraging its excellent characteristics and vertically integrating medical devices, architectural lighting, and automobile lamps,” he emphasized.

Meanwhile, IL Science continues to invest in research and development (R&D). Recently, we are preparing to commercialize all-solid-state batteries by jointly operating a battery R&D center through industry-academia cooperation with Professor Youngsoo Yoon’s team at Gachon University. The goal is to continue to actively invest in the development of new technologies and new materials for future growth.
