Japanese Language Education Course

Licenses and qualifications that can be acquired

◎: Junior high school teacher type 1 (Japanese)
◎: High school teacher type 1 (Japanese)
□: Qualification for appointment as social educator (development course), social education director
□: Librarian
□: School librarian teacher
*Registered Japanese language instructor

◎: A teaching license that can be acquired by fulfilling graduation requirements and acquiring the necessary credits.
□: Qualifications that can be acquired by fulfilling graduation requirements and acquiring necessary credits
*: It is possible to obtain this by acquiring the required credits and passing the Japanese Language Teacher Examination (applied test). However, we are planning to apply to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology as a registered Japanese language teacher training institution and a registered practical training institution, and the planned opening date, etc. may change as a result of the review.

Four years of study

First year student

Through courses such as “Basic Education Seminar” and “Creative Inquiry Seminar I,” students will acquire academic skills that will be the basis of their future studies, as well as learn basic knowledge and ways of thinking about language and culture education. Furthermore, they will explore the significance of language and culture education in a multicultural society. In addition, they will think about education broadly from a global perspective.

2nd year student

In addition to specialized and general-major subjects related to Japanese language, Japanese language education, and national language education, as well as multicultural understanding, students will acquire the knowledge and research methods necessary to specialize in the field of language and culture education through courses such as “Creative Inquiry Seminar II.”

3rd year student

Through specialized subjects related to Japanese language, Japanese language education, Japanese language education, and multicultural understanding, students will further deepen the knowledge they have acquired in their second year, and while conceiving a specific research theme in “Creative Inquiry Seminar III,” they will acquire the necessary knowledge and research methods. In addition, they will acquire practical skills that can be applied to various educational and social issues.

4th year student

Through “Creative Research Seminar IV,” students will acquire logical thinking and expression skills that will enable them to conduct high-quality graduation research, and will further deepen the academic knowledge and interests they have accumulated up to their third year, leading to the creation of their graduation thesis. In “Japanese Language Education Project Seminar,” students will engage in teaching practice related to Japanese language education.
