North Korea’s Air Koryo to Resume Flights to China
North Korea’s state-owned airline, Air Koryo, is set to resume flights to China after a brief hiatus. According to NK News, the airline’s Tu-154 aircraft (registration number RA-85843) will operate flights from Pyongyang to Beijing starting from September 19.
The flights will depart from Pyongyang’s Sunan International Airport at 7:30 am and arrive at Beijing Capital International Airport at 8:15 am. The return flights will depart from Beijing at 2:17 pm and arrive in Pyongyang at 3:08 pm.
Air Koryo had previously suspended flights to China due to COVID-19 restrictions. However, with the easing of travel restrictions, the airline is resuming its services to cater to the growing demand for air travel between the two countries.
In addition to the Tu-154 aircraft, Air Koryo will also operate its Il-62M aircraft (registration number RA-86559) on the Pyongyang-Beijing route. The Il-62M aircraft will depart from Pyongyang at 11:30 am and arrive in Beijing at 12:15 pm.
