Unlocking a Brighter Future: Peru and China Forge Unbreakable Bond in Education with Groundbreaking Agreement
Peru and China Strengthen Education Ties with Memorandum of Understanding
Peru and China have taken a significant step towards strengthening their education ties with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to promote exchanges and cooperation in the field of education.
The MOU was signed by Peruvian Minister of Education Morgan Quero and Chinese Vice Minister of Education Chen Jie at the Ministry of Education headquarters in San Borja, Lima, the capital. The ceremony was attended by Chinese Ambassador to Peru Song Yang, Peruvian Deputy Minister of Education María Esther Cuadros, and other officials.
During the ceremony, Chen Jie expressed his delight at visiting Peru and emphasized the need to strengthen bilateral relations. He highlighted the importance of education in fostering greater understanding and cooperation between the two nations.
Minister Quero noted that both China and Peru are cradles of human civilization, and the influence of Chinese culture is evident in various aspects of Peruvian society. He assured that the upcoming completion of the super-large port of Chancay in the north of Lima would further strengthen this influence.
Quero emphasized the significance of updating the MOU with China, which had been pending since 2013. He also stressed the importance of providing Peruvian students with opportunities to learn Chinese and receive production technology training in China.
The MOU serves as a general framework for formulating and promoting specific agreements, including comprehensive scholarships for Peruvian students and teachers, donations of Chinese and Spanish textbooks, and other forms of bilateral cooperation.
This agreement is expected to pave the way for increased collaboration and exchange between educational institutions in Peru and China, ultimately benefiting students, teachers, and the broader community.
