Unlocking Academic Success: Hanshin University Launches Innovative Program to Boost Student Motivation and Learning Strategies
2024 Summer Umbrella Workshop: Enhancing Academic Skills and Time Management
The 2024 Summer Umbrella Workshop Program, organized by Hanshin University’s Teaching and Learning Support Center, has been successfully conducted from August 26th to 29th.
The ’Umbrella Workshop’ is a comprehensive program designed to provide students with various learning-related strategies, including time management, report writing, and note-taking. This initiative aims to support students who are facing difficulties with their studies and seeking help.
One of the unique features of the workshop was the online learning strategy test, which allowed for customized education to be provided to participating students. This test helped identify areas where students needed improvement, enabling the instructors to tailor their teaching methods accordingly.
The workshop was divided into two main sessions: ’Finding My Learning Motivation’ and ’Checking Learning Methods and Learning Strategies’. The first session focused on self-exploration, goal setting, and identifying individual strengths and weaknesses. The second session concentrated on effective study methods, time management, and developing a study plan.
Professor Kyung-Mi Han, who led the workshop, emphasized the importance of setting goals and managing time efficiently for a healthy and fulfilling college life. She also highlighted the long-term benefits of effective time management, extending beyond college to future careers.
Participants, such as Kyung Chan-gu, appreciated the opportunity to reflect on their time management skills and identify areas for improvement. The workshop received positive feedback from students, who found it to be a practical and growth-oriented program.
A total of 40 students participated in the 2024 Summer Umbrella Workshop, which was well-received for its ability to promote practical change and growth beyond theoretical learning.
