China-Burkina Faso Economic Promotion Conference: A New Era of Cooperation
On the sidelines of the Sino-African cooperation forum, the Burkina Faso embassy in Beijing organized the China-Burkina Faso economic promotion conference on September 2, 2024. This conference aimed to present the numerous opportunities for Chinese investment in Burkina Faso and the reforms implemented to promote a favorable business climate.
The Burkinabè Investment Agency (ABI) and the technical secretary of the agropastoral and fisheries offensive presented the various sectors in which Chinese businesses can invest, including agriculture, health, mining, energy, infrastructure, real estate development, transportation, and tourism.
The Chinese side, represented by the Beijing Haunland International Business Association, expressed a strong willingness to offer services in areas such as infrastructure, modern energy, artificial intelligence, and more.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation and Burkinabè Abroad welcomed the initiative, stating that it strengthens economic and commercial relations between Burkinabè and Chinese private sector actors.
“With such a framework, economic and trade relations between Burkina Faso and China have a bright future,” said Karamoko Jean Marie TRAORE, inviting Chinese investors to experience Burkina Faso’s opportunities.
Burkina Faso’s ambassador in Beijing, Daouda BITIE, expressed his delight in hosting the conference, which aims to attract Chinese investors to Burkina Faso. He assured Chinese investors that the country is friendly and busy, with a steady influx of businessmen from all walks of life.
The ambassador noted that the country’s youth, which makes up the majority of the population, is a significant strength for Chinese companies looking to set up in Burkina Faso.
Daouda BITIE expressed his hope that cooperation between Burkina Faso and the People’s Republic of China will remain dynamic, thanks to the economic and commercial actors of both countries.
