On October 31, 2024, the UK Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) published a research report on barriers to library use in England, “Barriers to library use – qualitative research report”.
The survey was commissioned by the Ministry and conducted by Ipsos, a private research company. The report summarizes the results of a survey conducted through focus group interviews and other methods on barriers to library use and factors that promote use, as well as measures that libraries can take to encourage citizens to use libraries.
