On September 24, Japanese Ambassador to China Kenji Kanasugi visited Dalian City, Liaoning Province and held talks with Xiong Maoping, Secretary of the Dalian Municipal Party Committee. Regarding the attack and death of a Japanese schoolboy in Shenzhen on September 18, Kenji Kanesugi said, “Business (of Japanese companies) with China is at a major fork in the road.”
Kanasugi Kenji also expressed his awareness of the problem: “We can only think that the Shenzhen case has cast a shadow on Japan-China relations,” and he explained this to the media after the meeting.
