Blackstone President Jon Gray Advises Bold Investments in AI Infrastructure Companies

Jon Gray, president and chief operating officer (COO) of Blackstone Inc., the world’s largest private equity firm, advised bold investments as the U.S. economy is on path to soft landing.

During a conversation session at the 25th World Knowledge Forum hosted by Maekyung Media Group, Gray emphasized the importance of responding to macro changes such as artificial intelligence (AI) and the aging population, rather than getting caught up in short-term uncertainties.

Gray noted that while the global economy is in a transitional period, he believes the U.S. economy will achieve a soft landing. He highlighted the importance of forward-looking investments based on optimism, saying that when investing, themes, or promising industries or trends, is critically important.

He referenced AI infrastructure rather than AI-related semiconductors as a key area for investment. Gray also emphasized that investors need to see the bigger picture, rather than being fixated on the U.S. presidential election or the size of the Federal Reserve’s rate cuts.

Regarding sectors worth investing in Korea, Gray mentioned healthcare from an alternative investment perspective, citing the country’s rapidly aging population as a key factor.

Jim Rogers, chairman of Beeland Interests Inc., also shared his investment insights, recommending investments in silver rather than gold. He noted that investors are flocking to gold as a safe haven, but he believes now is the time to invest in silver. While gold prices have already hit all-time highs, silver is still over 40 percent below its peak.

Investment Opportunities in Korea

Gray highlighted the potential for investment in Korea’s healthcare sector, driven by the country’s rapidly aging population. This trend is expected to continue, making healthcare a promising area for investment.

Global Economic Trends

The global economy is in a transitional period, with the U.S. economy expected to achieve a soft landing. Investors need to be aware of the bigger picture and focus on forward-looking investments based on optimism.

Investing in AI Infrastructure

Gray emphasized the importance of investing in AI infrastructure, rather than AI-related semiconductors. This area is expected to see significant growth in the coming years, making it a promising investment opportunity.
