Have you ever wondered what your furry friend is trying to tell you? Do you think it’s possible to understand their thoughts and emotions? Kim A-young, CEO of Animal Healing Forest, is an expert in animal communication, and he’s here to share his insights on how to build a deeper connection with your pets.
When talking to people, we try to read their facial expressions and body language to understand their emotions. But can we do the same with animals? According to Kim A-young, the answer is yes. By observing an animal’s behavior and expressions, we can gain a deeper understanding of their needs and emotions.
Kim A-young’s journey into animal communication began when he was searching for his true passion. He discovered that he had a natural ability to connect with animals, and he decided to pursue it further. Today, he is one of the leading experts in animal education and communication in South Korea.
We had the opportunity to sit down with Kim A-young and learn more about his philosophy and the world of animal communication. Here’s what he had to say:
Q&A with Kim A-young
What is the background behind the creation of ‘Animal Healing Forest’, a space for animal communication?
“I’ve loved animals since I was little. As I grew up, I forgot about caring for animals, but one day, a friend asked me, ’Do you remember what your dream was when you were little?’ That’s when I remembered that I’ve wanted to do something related to animals since I was little. At first, I wondered if it would be possible to communicate with animals, but I gradually learned how to communicate with animals, and now I help many people communicate better with their pets.”
What exactly does it mean to communicate with animals?
“Communicating with animals is more than just correcting behavior. It’s understanding their emotions and reading the messages they’re trying to convey. For example, licking their nose can have different meanings depending on the situation. While most pet owners may simply think of it as an expression of discomfort, in some cases it could be because their nose is ticklish or they smell something they like. I read the animals’ true emotions hidden in these small behaviors and help their owners communicate more deeply with them.”
Are there any cases where communication actually changed a pet’s behavior?
“There are many memorable cases. One of them is a cat that was abandoned four times. Wherever it went, it would always cower. However, through communication, it came to understand that the house was its new home, and after that, it would lie down comfortably with its paws stretched out. Also, a cat that had never been touched even once approached first and acted cute after communication. These changes can be explained scientifically, and it is something that anyone can learn to do.”

As an animal communicator, you must have faced many challenges. What is the most difficult part?
“It’s a misunderstanding or prejudice. It’s like when you go to a restaurant and it doesn’t meet your expectations, you think that all restaurants that serve that food are like that. One mistake can lower the trust of the entire organization. It’s really unfortunate.”
What are your plans and goals for the future?
“I plan to make more people aware of animal communication, and in doing so, I hope to reduce the number of abandoned animals. As the pet population increases, the number of abandoned dogs is also increasing. Ultimately, this is due to a lack of communication. I want to help people live happily with their pets, but I also want to make communication more widely known so that no more animals are abandoned or neglected due to a lack of understanding of each other. In addition, I plan to incorporate the Animal Healing Forest and establish the Korean Animal Communication Association to establish a system to train proper communication specialists.”
What do you want to say to your companions?
“Don’t doubt the ability to communicate with animals, just experience it for yourself. I think many people will realize that after learning this skill, it is an easier and more natural process than they thought.”
