Importance of Reciting the Quran on the Prophet’s Birthday

Dr. Zainab Al-Said, Fatwa Secretary of the Egyptian Fatwa House, emphasized that reciting the Quran on the Prophet’s birthday is a cherished and beloved act of worship. She highlighted that reciting the Quran is considered one of the most beautiful and best acts of worship to God Almighty, especially on this auspicious day, as it strengthens our connection with the Prophet and Almighty God.

Alternatives for Those Who Struggle to Read the Quran

During her interview on the “Hawa” program aired on Al-Nas TV, Dr. Al-Said explained that if a person finds it difficult to read the Quran, they can simply retain it or even just look at it. She shared a story about some Companions who complained to the Prophet about the difficulty of reciting and memorizing the Quran.

The Power of Dhikr: A Sufficient Alternative

The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, advised the Companions to recite “La ilaha illallah, Allahu Akbar” (There is no god but Allah, and Allah is Great), indicating that this dhikr is sufficient for reciting the Quran. Although the Prophet did not specify a particular number for this dhikr, it is recommended to recite it as much as possible, making it a good alternative for those who cannot read the Holy Quran.
