Supporting Domestic Cosmetics Industry’s Export to the U.S.
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) announced that it will hold an ‘Online Training (Webinar) on U.S. Sunscreen Regulations and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Inspection Cases’ to support the domestic cosmetics industry’s export of sunscreens to the U.S.
This training was prepared in response to industry requests for guidance on relevant regulations and FDA GMP inspections due to differences in systems between countries, as sunscreens are managed as general drugs in the United States, unlike in Korea where they are cosmetics (functional).
The training will cover guidance on US sunscreen-related regulations, introduction to FDA GMP inspection cases, and more.
Providing Substantial Training to Companies
Shin Jun-soo, Director of Biopharmaceuticals, stated that the U.S. is a major exporter of domestic cosmetics and emphasized that this training will provide substantial training to companies preparing to export sunscreen to the U.S.
