Thai Police Order Removal of 9 Scandalous Officers from Service

Police Lieutenant General Thanayut Wutticharattamrong, Deputy Police Commander, has signed a police order⁣ to remove 9 scandalous police officers from service. ‌The officers are accused of extorting 300 million baht from Chinese citizens.

The incident occurred on October 16, when the 9 police officers organized a search at the home ⁢of a victim in Vanuatu and extorted 300 million baht. The news⁢ has already been reported, and an ​investigation has been launched.

On November 5, 2024, Lieutenant General Thanayut ‌Wutticharattamrong signed​ Royal ⁣Thai Police Order No.⁢ 538/2024, regarding the removal of the police officers from​ government⁤ service. The officers ‍are:

  • Police ⁣Lieutenant Colonel Chanachai Jaikla, Detective Inspector Kham Sakaesaeng Police Station, Nakhon Ratchasima Province
  • Police Lieutenant Thanakrit Kanchanamas, Deputy Inspector, Division 1, STS

  • Police Lieutenant ⁢Suphan Khongsai, Group Commander, 1st Battalion, 1st Battalion
  • Lieutenant⁢ Colonel Chayaphon Wongpan, Group Commander, 1st Battalion, 1st Battalion
  • Police Lieutenant Manasawee Chanyalak, Squad Commander, 1st Battalion, 1st Battalion

The officers have been temporarily‌ removed from government service pending the results ‍of the disciplinary investigation. They ‍have the​ right to ‌appeal to the Police Commission under the Royal Thai Police Act 2022, Section 141, within 30 days from the date of knowledge of the ⁤order.
