Unmasking a Monster: The Chilling Case Against Mohamed al-Fayed’s Arch-Nemesis
Allegations Against Mohammed Al-Fayed: A Culture of Fear and Abuse
More than 20 Victims Speak Out
Lawyers for Mohammed al-Fayed’s alleged victims said the case “brings together some of the most horrific elements involving Jimmy Savile, Jeffrey Epstein, and Harvey Weinstein.” A documentary “Al-Fayed: The Predator at Harrods” presented by the BBC gathered evidence that during its ownership of Al-Fayed, Harrods not only failed to intervene but also helped cover up allegations of assault.
Harrods Apologizes for Allegations of Rape and Abuse
London’s luxury department store chain Harrods has apologized to its former owner, billionaire Egyptian businessman Mohamed Al-Fayed, for allegations of rape and sexual abuse by multiple former female employees. More than 20 former female employees spoke to the broadcaster as part of a private investigation, alleging assault and physical violence at properties located in London and Paris.
Harrods said in a statement: “We are deeply shocked and dismayed by the alleged assault carried out by Mohammed al-Fayed… this was the work of someone whose clear intention was to exploit his influence.”
Victims’ Testimonies
A woman said Al-Fayed raped her in his apartment on Park Lane: “I made it clear that I wouldn’t let that happen. I did not give my consent. “I just wanted it to be over.” Another said she was a teenager when he raped her at his headquarters in Mayfair. He added: “Mohammed al-Fayed was a monster and a sex predator with no moral compass.”

Breaking the ”Culture of Fear”
All the women the BBC spoke to described feeling intimidated at work, which made it difficult for them to speak out.
“There was definitely a culture of fear throughout the store from the lowest to the highest,” explained Sarah, a store worker.
