More ​than ⁤20 Victims Speak Out

Lawyers for‍ Mohammed⁤ al-Fayed’s alleged victims said the case “brings together some of the most horrific elements involving Jimmy ⁢Savile, Jeffrey Epstein, and Harvey Weinstein.”​ A documentary “Al-Fayed: The Predator at Harrods” presented by the BBC gathered evidence that during its ownership of Al-Fayed, Harrods ‌not‍ only failed to intervene but⁢ also helped cover up allegations of assault.

The allegations that have⁣ surfaced since his departure are unprecedented (AFP).

Harrods⁢ Apologizes ‌for Allegations⁢ of ‌Rape and ​Abuse

London’s luxury department store chain Harrods has apologized​ to its former owner, billionaire Egyptian businessman Mohamed Al-Fayed, for allegations of ‌rape and⁤ sexual abuse by multiple⁢ former ⁤female employees. More than 20 former female employees spoke to the broadcaster as part of a private investigation,‌ alleging assault and physical ⁣violence at⁤ properties located ⁤in London and Paris.

Harrods said in a statement: “We are deeply shocked ⁣and dismayed⁢ by the alleged assault carried out‌ by Mohammed al-Fayed… this was the work of someone ‌whose clear⁣ intention was to‍ exploit his influence.”

Victims’ Testimonies

A woman ⁢said Al-Fayed raped her in his apartment on⁣ Park Lane: “I made it clear​ that I wouldn’t let that happen. I did‍ not give my consent. “I just wanted it to be over.” Another ‍said she​ was a⁤ teenager when he ‍raped her at​ his ⁢headquarters in ‍Mayfair. He added: “Mohammed al-Fayed was⁤ a ⁢monster and a sex predator with no moral compass.”

Breaking the ‌”Culture of Fear”

All⁢ the ‍women the BBC spoke to ​described feeling ⁤intimidated ‌at work, ​which ‌made ⁢it difficult for​ them⁢ to speak out.

“There ‍was definitely a culture of fear throughout the store from the lowest⁢ to ‍the highest,” explained Sarah, a store worker.
