Superheroes and Superpowers: An Expert’s Perspective
From movies to 2D animation, people’s imaginations about “superpowers” are endless. But which superhero has the most incredible superpowers, according to experts?
Neil deGrasse Tyson, a renowned American astrophysicist, recently shared his thoughts on the matter. “It must be Superman! He once reversed the movement of the earth and even reversed time. Oh my God, how is that possible!”
This description comes from the 1978 film “Superman” starring Christopher Reeve. At the end of the story, to save his dying lover Lois, Superman flew upside down to Earth at very high speed and successfully reversed time. In this regard, Neil deGrasse Tyson believes that “if he could slow the rotation of the Earth and stop it, he would kill a billion people because all the sea water would pour onto the continent! This alone would violate all the known laws of physics.”
Interestingly, Neil deGrasse Tyson also commented on the two main superhero camps of Marvel and DC. “Marvel obviously beats DC in this regard. Because in Marvel, with the exception of Thor and a few people I may have forgotten, most of the superheroes’ abilities come from some scientific event.
Superhero Science: A Closer Look
While Superman’s powers may be impressive, they are not without their scientific flaws. According to Neil deGrasse Tyson, Superman’s ability to reverse time would require an enormous amount of energy, far beyond what is physically possible.
