Nikolina Kovač on Her New Album “I Live for Love” and Career
Born in Sarajevo, Nikolina Kovač, who has been living and working in Belgrade for several years, spoke on TVSA Nedjeljni ritam about her new album “I live for love”, family and career.
When asked what the impressions were after promoting the album in Sarajevo, Nikolina says that it was wonderful and that she is very proud of her.
From Childhood to Debut Album
You released your first studio album “Živim za ljubav”, how many years of music have been combined in this debut?
“I have to say that in addition to my children’s holiday, which was the beginning of my career, in 2012 I joined Zvezde granda and that was my beginning. In the first audition I was 16 and a half years old and I didn’t pass, that audition was in Šabac, which was shown where I was a chubbier, a little teenage girl in sneakers with big hair. After that, in two years, I applied and passed with my 19 years at the timeNikolina said.
The Preparation of the Album “I Live for Love”
“The songs were created before the corona and during the corona, when there was free time, when there were enough of those emotions that encompassed everyone. To be honest, I expected to be able to realize it earlier. It really takes a lot of resources, a lot of energy, a lot of other things that are not primary, but are essential to organize it all. For me, the most important thing is that I have reached the goal. My album is woven with pure emotion, and that “I live for love” describes my sensibility and completes my career in the right wayadds Nikolina.
Promoting the Album in Belgrade and Sarajevo
“I wanted to introduce the people who worked with me, who contributed to make it all look the way it is, to make it all meaningful, to conclude that one story. I still feel the pulse, I push my music through social platforms, I get good reactionsNikolina said.
Family Support
“My daughter and my parents were also at the promotion in Sarajevo. She is fascinated, as soon as the lights come on she knows how to act. She loves art and behaves very naturally accordingly. Regarding the promotion in Belgrade, Saša was the one who surprised me and supported me. The children had already gone on holiday with their grandparents during that time and somehow everyone, even though they are small, has their own responsibilities and I let them be like that, so they are not slaves to my projects“, she said.
Inspiration for Lyrics
“It’s just in these little good things… I’m hit by a song, a moment in my life, when a person says something to me, I feel it somewhere inside me and in translate into verses. Sometimes it can be a good series, a movie that leaves a good impression on me, it all happens on the basis of great emotions, that’s how I operate. A man sometimes feels wrong when he gives his all and people don’t recognize him in the right way in some moments. It is important to persevere and not give up on your dreams and essence“.
