Taipei City Intangible Cultural Asset Certificate Awarded to Yang Lihua

The Taipei City Cultural Affairs Bureau held the Taipei City Intangible Cultural Assets Certification Ceremony today. Taipei Mayor Chiang Wannan awarded certificates to Yang Lihua and Lin Lizheng, conservators of the traditional performing art ‘Gezi Opera’.
Yang Lihua gave a speech in Taiwanese, saying that she grew up in a theater troupe and was devoted to opera all her life and was really happy to receive this certificate, ‘My life has not been in vain.’
He said that Gezi Opera represents Taiwan’s native culture. Although he has not retired, he will continue to work hard to promote this skill and can help the whole society. Otherwise, it will be so beautiful that the culture will gradually dry up.
Yang Lihua said with a smile that she had heard Lin Fa’s performance before, but she didn’t have a chance to perform today, so she would definitely perform if she had the chance in the future. ‘I won’t write a blank check.’
Lin Lizheng said he would like to thank his teachers for their guidance, friends for their encouragement, students for recognizing these skills, and his wife for her unrepentant support over the decades. He said that any industry is a profession, and ‘You can only live if you die in it.’
