Salah al-Din al-Tijani, a self-proclaimed sheikh of the Tijaniya order, has been at the center of a recent controversy after a girl named Khadijah accused him of harassment.
The incident began after social media users published a conversation between Al-Tijani and the girl, in which he expressed his affection for her.

- He claimed that the girl is mentally ill and has attempted to commit suicide, and that he considers himself her father figure.
- He denied interfering in her life or the life of her family.
- He stated that he has 10 administrators on his page and that the conversation could have been with one of them.
- He claimed that he will receive good deeds for free from those who speak about him.
- He stated that he did not seek fame, but it came to him unexpectedly.
- He expressed his love for trends and his enjoyment of the attention.

Some Salafist personalities have been accused of taking advantage of the situation to attack Al-Tijani’s person.
The Sheikhdom of the Tijaniya Order of the Arab Republic of Egypt has issued a statement regarding the allegations, distancing themselves from Al-Tijani and his actions.
The statement claims that Al-Tijani is an ordinary, uneducated Muslim who has deceived unknowing Muslims in the Imbaba region and claimed to carry the banner of the Tijaniya order.
The Tijaniya order has denied any affiliation with Al-Tijani and has warned against his actions.
