Amazine International Short Film Competition 2024: Raising Awareness for the Amazon
The third edition of the Amazine International Short Film Competition 2024 will culminate in an Award Ceremony on October 17 in Madrid. This competition, created by the Watunna Association of Venezuela, aims to raise awareness about the Amazon’s environmental conservation, culture, and biodiversity.
Through this platform, the competition sheds light on the voices and stories from the Amazon region, contributing to the spread of its cultural and natural wealth. The event also stimulates the creation of short films that emphasize the importance of protecting this precious ecosystem.
Jury and Awards
This year’s awards have been awarded by a jury consisting of renowned filmmaker Anabel Rodríguez, President of the Watunna Association of Venezuela and Amazine; Ana María Méndez-Schreier, professor and expert in Environmental Sciences; Francisco Andrés Aldazoro, Educator in complex systems; and Rafael Rodríguez Altamiranda, Biologist, professor, and researcher in ecology and biodiversity conservation.
Award Ceremony Details
The ceremony will begin with a performance by singer-songwriter Ignacio Izcaray Yépez and will conclude with a toast. The event will take place at 7:30 pm at Epacio Ronda, located at 50 Segovia Street, and entry is free until capacity is reached.
