Sheikh al-Tijani’s Background and Influence
Sheikh Salah al-Din Abu Talib al-Tijani was born in June 1958 in the Sayyida Zeinab area of Cairo. He was affiliated with the Tijaniyya order but established the Salahiya order in 2000 due to disagreements with its founder. Despite being rejected by the Supreme Council of Sufi Orders, Sheikh al-Tijani has many disciples who follow his teachings.
Sheikh al-Tijani is considered an influential figure in Egyptian society, and his disciples include known artists and intellectuals such as Somaya Al-Khashab, Fifi Abdo, Nashwa Mustafa, and Ahmed Abdul Rahim Kamal and Nasser Abdul Rahman.
