Unveiling the Mastermind: The Daring Story of Maher al-Jazi, the Architect Behind the Allenby Crossing Operation
Jordanian Truck Driver Carries Out Deadly Attack at Allenby Crossing
On Sunday, a Jordanian truck driver, armed with a pistol, carried out a fatal attack at the Allenby crossing on the Israeli side of the Jordanian border.
The attack resulted in the deaths of three Israelis, who were identified as crossing security personnel. According to reports, the victims were shot as soon as they reached the crossing point inspection area.
The suspect, Maher Hussein Dhiyab al-Jazi, was killed instantly by Israeli soldiers at the scene. Al-Jazi, born on April 28, 1985, hailed from Jordan’s Ma’an Governorate and belonged to the Al-Huwaytat tribe of Aadhaar.
Further investigation revealed that al-Jazi was a descendant of the “al-Zazi” family, which has a notable history. The family is known for producing prominent figures, including Sheikh Harun al-Zazi al-Huwaiti, who commanded the Children of the Al-Huwaytat Volunteer Company in the 1948 Battle of al-Qastal in Jerusalem.
Other notable members of the al-Zazi family include Major General Mashhoor Al-Jazi, who played a key role in the 1968 war and is a grandson of Sheikh Harun.
The attack at the Allenby crossing has raised concerns about the security situation in the region and the potential for future incidents.
