A Conversation with Haneame
What inspired you to become a cosplayer?
Haneame: I’ve always been fascinated by the world of cosplay and the creativity that comes with it. I love expressing myself through different characters and costumes.
How many times have you participated in Comiket?
Haneame: This is my third time at NatsuComi (Comiket held in the summer). It’s always a thrilling experience, and I’m grateful to be a part of it.
Why did you choose to cosplay as Eve from “Stellar Blade”?
Haneame: I was captivated by Eve’s sexy appearance and wanted to bring her to life through my cosplay. I love the challenge of creating intricate costumes and accessories.
What’s your favorite part about the costume?
Haneame: I’m particularly proud of the life-size weapons I made myself. It took me two months to complete them, but it was worth the effort.
What are your hobbies and special skills?
Haneame: I’m an avid gamer and enjoy playing online games like “League of Legends.” I’m also skilled at making cosplay costumes and accessories, and I handle all the product planning myself.
Do you have any days off?
Haneame: (laughs) Not really! If I had a day off, I’d spend it playing games for 24 hours straight!
What are you most proud of?
Haneame: I’m proud of my ability to participate in cosplay events like Comiket, no matter the weather conditions. It’s a challenging but rewarding experience.
What’s next for you?
Haneame: I’d like to cosplay as Boa Hancock from “One Piece” again, as the response from fans was amazing. I’m also planning to hold my birthday celebration and first solo exhibition in Akihabara from October 5th to October 13th.
A Message from Haneame
Haneame: I love Japan’s beautiful scenery, especially in Kyoto, Osaka, and Nara. I’m grateful for events like Comiket, where I can meet people from Japan and share my passion for cosplay. I’m looking forward to my next visit and hope to see you all there!
A Lesson Learned
Haneame: My first time at Comiket was a bit of a disaster. I didn’t know anyone, and I was carrying a 100kg load from Taiwan by myself. I got on the wrong train and was two hours late! (laughs) I didn’t understand the rules, and I found out later that I could have mailed my load to the venue. It was a tough experience, but I learned from it.
