UP Govt Sacks 5 Doctors, Orders Action Against 16 Health Officials for Negligence

The government of Uttar Pradesh has dismissed five doctors from service and ordered disciplinary action against 16 health officials following findings of professional negligence.

The administrative move targets both medical practitioners and health department officials to address lapses in healthcare delivery and professional accountability within the state.

According to reports from May 8, 2026, the state government took the decision to sack the five doctors after determining that their conduct constituted negligence. In addition to the dismissals, 16 other health officials have been flagged for action, signaling a broader crackdown on administrative and clinical failures in the health sector.
