Heavy Snowfall Hits Upstate New York
Syracuse, N.Y. — This holiday weekend, North Country and Western New York experienced significant lake effect snow. One town, Barnes Corners in Lewis County, recorded 45 inches of snow, the highest in Upstate New York.
Many counties received over 30 inches of snow. The National Weather Service predicts more snow is on the way. Watertown is expected to receive an additional two to three feet of snow tonight and into Sunday. Just south of Buffalo is forecasted to get the same amount.
In Orchard Park, home of the Buffalo Bills, 1 to 2 feet of snow is expected before their game at 8:20 p.m. on Sunday night.
Travel conditions are affected, with a ban on all commercial vehicles on I-90 in both directions from exit 46 (Rochester – Corning – I-390) to the Pennsylvania state line.
Stay safe and monitor local weather updates as more snowfall approaches.
