Urgent Alert: Use Your Homebase Vouchers This Weekend or Risk Losing Them
The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) urges Homebase voucher holders to use their vouchers this weekend. Failure to do so may result in financial loss.
Earlier this month, the High Court appointed provisional liquidators for Homebase, affecting the company’s operations in Ireland. However, the eight stores in Ireland remain open and staff are not impacted at this time.
The CCPC has responded to consumer concerns about unfulfilled orders and confusion regarding rights at Homebase stores. The liquidators have confirmed they will accept gift vouchers during the provisional liquidation period. Additionally, the UK administrators have pledged to fulfill outstanding orders.
Brian McHugh, Chair of the CCPC, emphasized the importance of consumer rights. He mentioned that the CCPC contacted the liquidators to ensure consumer protection while the stores continue to operate.
Consumers with pending orders for kitchens and installations should expect to hear from Homebase early next week regarding their orders.
In the UK, Homebase entered administration and sold up to 70 stores, as well as its brand and intellectual property, to The Range owner CDS in a prepack deal.
