Illinois Business Matching Event Aims to Boost Italian-U.S. Trade
Illinois will host a business matching event , designed to connect companies from Italy with potential partners in the American Midwest. The initiative, organized by Promos Italia – the agency for internationalization of the Chamber of Commerce of Udine – focuses on facilitating business relationships and expanding trade between the two countries.
The United States remains a key export market for Italy outside of the European Union, with trade volumes consistently growing. Illinois, a major industrial and logistical hub, presents significant opportunities for Italian businesses, particularly those in the manufacturing, mechanical engineering, and agri-food sectors. Italy is already a prominent supplier to the state, especially for machinery, design products, and high-quality food items.
Despite recent uncertainties surrounding tariffs, opportunities for Italian companies remain substantial, driven by demand for technically advanced and high-quality products. The Midwest region, encompassing states like Illinois and Indiana, offers a favorable environment for building strong and lasting commercial ties, according to event organizers.
The event is specifically targeted towards companies legally based or operating within the former province of Udine, Italy. Promos Italia will provide orientation and preparation services, including partner research and personalized business matching agendas.
The business matching meetings will be held in person in Illinois, offering a direct platform for interaction and negotiation. The initiative aims to provide concrete tools for promotion and internationalization, strengthening the dialogue between Italy and the United States.
Key sectors of interest for the event include agri-food & beverages, construction-home-and contract, and industry-machinery-components. This targeted approach aims to maximize the relevance and effectiveness of the business matching process.
