US Envoys Kushner and Witkoff to Visit Ukraine in April

U.S. Envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are expected to lead a diplomatic delegation to Kyiv in April 2026 to reboot peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia.

Kyrylo Budanov, the chief of staff and top aide to the Ukrainian president, stated on April 4, 2026, that the visit is intended to revive talks that have stalled following an escalation of conflict in the Middle East.

Planned Delegation and Timing

According to reporting from Bloomberg and Reuters, the visiting delegation is expected to include Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, and Lindsey Graham. Budanov indicated that additional officials may join the group.

The meeting is projected to take place shortly after April 12, 2026, which marks Orthodox Easter.

Diplomatic Context and Previous Engagements

This trip would mark the first official visit to Kyiv for both Witkoff and Kushner. While the two envoys have previously met with Ukrainian representatives within the United States, they have already traveled to Moscow for discussions with Russian officials.

The effort to resume peace talks follows a period of diplomatic stagnation. Washington-brokered negotiations to end the four-year war in Ukraine were interrupted after the United States and Israel conducted bombings in Iran.

Those military actions triggered waves of retaliatory strikes across several Middle Eastern states, which disrupted the momentum of the Ukraine-Russia peace process.
