Hyundai Mobis is also focusing on bolstering its internal technology development. Earlier this month, the company integrated its software research operations in Hyderabad, India, often referred to as India’s Silicon Valley.
The company established its first Indian Research Institute in 2007, followed by a second in 2020. The expansion of software research and development personnel prompted the creation of new, larger facilities to consolidate distributed research bases and maximize synergy.
The Indian Research Institute plans to collaborate with local automotive software companies to cultivate an external ecosystem and attract talent. The goal is to establish the institute as a global software hub with independent business capabilities, providing integrated solutions to global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
