Mexico City, Mexico - The U.S. Embassy in Mexico has issued a level 2 travel advisory for U.S. citizens in mexico City following a deadly shooting at the Plaza Miyana in the upscale Polanco neighborhood.The incident,which occurred earlier today,resulted in one fatality.
The embassy urged U.S. citizens to exercise increased caution and avoid the Polanco area if possible.
“The U.S. embassy reminds U.S. citizens that the Department of State’s Travel Advisory for Mexico city remains at Level 2: Exercise Increased Caution due to crime,” the embassy stated in its alert.

Mexico City, Mexico – A popular Mexico City shopping plaza has been placed on high alert after a brazen daylight shooting left one man dead. The incident occurred Monday afternoon at plaza Miyana,located in the upscale Miguel hidalgo borough.
According to the Mexico City Secretariat of Citizen Security, the victim was shot multiple times inside the El Bajío restaurant.
“Upon arriving at the scene and observing the man with visible bloodstains, emergency services were requested. Paramedics who arrived at the scene diagnosed him as deceased from a gunshot wound to the head,” the SSC stated.
witnesses reported seeing two men, one wearing a motorcycle helmet, approach the victim’s table and open fire before fleeing the scene. The victim was reportedly dining with two men and a woman, who also fled after the shooting.
The plaza was quickly secured by Mexico City police, along with members of the Mexican Army and National guard. Forensic investigators from the Mexico City Attorney General’s Office collected evidence and transported the victim’s body for autopsy.
