Washington – 8-16 (KUNA) – US President Donald Trump said today, Saturday, that he will meet his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodimir Zellinski, in Washington next Monday to discuss ways to end the war with Russia, praising the results of the Alaska summit with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin.
“It was a very wonderful and successful day in Alaska, where the meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin went well, as well as the phone call that she had late at night with Ukrainian President Zellinski and a number of European leaders, including the Secretary -General of NATO,” Trump wrote on his platform (Truth Social).
He explained that everyone agreed that the best way to end the horrific war between Russia and Ukraine is to directly go towards a peace agreement that ends the war “and not just a ceasefire agreement that does not withstand many times.”
The US President indicated that he informed European leaders his desire to arrange a tripartite summit that he gathered with President Zellinski and Putin by next Friday and that he would start working on the arrangement of the meeting if the conversations of the Oval Office with Zelinski went on Monday.
Trump said in television statements yesterday, Friday, that the responsibility is now the Ukrainian president to build on the results of the Alaska Summit and reach an agreement that inspires the war with Russia and has continued for three years. (End) A M M / R C
