US Pushes for 3-Week Truce: Will Israel Agree to a Temporary Peace

Israeli airstrikes continued today in southern Lebanon.
Israel said it attacked 75 Hezbollah targets, including military warehouses and launch pads, overnight.
In Lebanon, at least 72 people died yesterday, bringing the death toll since Israel’s bombing began to more than 620.
The Israeli side said that a ground war was imminent and also called up two reserve brigades for operations in the northern region.

“When you, armed, go into the area and meet Hezbollah operatives, you will show them what it is like to deal with highly skilled and combat-experienced soldiers.”
Major countries, including the United States and France, gathered at the United Nations General Assembly and presented a negotiated plan for a three-week ceasefire to both sides.

“We issued a statement calling for a 21-day ceasefire on the border between Israel and Lebanon. We were able to generate significant support from European and Arab countries.”
The Lebanese Prime Minister also welcomed the international community’s efforts to end the war.
The remaining variables are Israel and Hezbollah.
Both sides offer the return of northerners and an end to the war in Gaza as conditions for stopping the conflict.
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, who has the power to make all these decisions, headed to New York to attend the United Nations General Assembly.
