U.S. Strikes Houthi Command Center in⁤ Yemen After Rebel Attacks on Israel

Washington D.C. – The U.S. Central Command (Centcom) announced Monday that it conducted airstrikes targeting a key Houthi command and control ⁤facility in sana’a, yemen. The facility, according to Centcom, was used to coordinate Houthi attacks against U.S.‍ Navy vessels ⁣and commercial ships in the southern Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.

The strikes, described by Centcom as “precision” attacks, reflect the U.S. commitment to protecting American personnel, coalition partners, regional allies, and international maritime traffic.

This action comes on the⁣ heels of a series of attacks claimed by the‍ Iranian-backed⁤ Houthi rebels against Israel. Earlier Monday, the Houthis ⁤claimed responsibility for an attack on Tel⁤ Aviv, which they described⁢ as a ⁣”success.”⁣ However, the‍ Israeli military stated that it ⁣had intercepted a ballistic missile launched from Yemen.

Houthi‍ military spokesman Yahya Sarea insisted that the ‍group had successfully targeted a location in Tel⁤ Aviv with a hypersonic ballistic ⁣missile, the “Palestine 2.” ⁢He reiterated the Houthis’ commitment to continuing operations against Israel‍ “until the⁤ aggression against gaza ends and the blockade is lifted.”

The Houthis have also claimed responsibility for two attacks on Tel Aviv and ⁤Ashkelon last Friday, along with drone strikes, conducted in collaboration with‍ Iraqi Shia militias, against “vital targets” in southern Israel.

As late November 2023, Houthi rebels have repeatedly targeted commercial ships ⁢allegedly‍ linked to Israel in the Red sea and Indian Ocean using ⁤drones and missiles,⁢ aiming to inflict economic damage ⁣on ⁢Israel.

U.S.Responds to Houthi Attacks on Israel with Airstrikes in Yemen

Following a series of⁣ attacks ‍claimed by the Iranian-backed houthi rebels against Israel, the United ⁣States has conducted airstrikes targeting a Houthi command and control facility in Sana’a, Yemen. ‍

Centcom confirmed the strikes, characterizing them as “precision”⁤ attacks aimed at disrupting Houthi operations coordinating attacks against U.S. Navy vessels and commercial ships in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.

The U.S. action underscores its⁢ commitment to protecting American personnel, allies, regional partners, and international maritime traffic.

The retaliatory strikes come in response to a recent escalation in Houthi aggression against Israel.

Earlier this⁢ week, the Houthis claimed duty for an attack on ‍Tel Aviv, described by their spokesman ‍as a “success.” This followed two attacks claimed by the houthis against Tel Aviv and⁤ Ashkelon last Friday, alongside drone strikes allegedly carried out in coordination with Iraqi Shia militias ⁤against “vital targets” in southern Israel.

In addition to attacking Israeli targets, Houthi rebels have consistently targeted commercial ships purportedly linked to Israel in the Red Sea and Indian Ocean throughout November using drones and missiles, aiming to inflict economic damage on Israel.
