The‌ United States⁢ has begun sharing classified intelligence regarding Chinese and Russian activities in space with the United Kingdom and⁤ other ⁣members of the Five Eyes ‌intelligence alliance, according to The times.

Prior to‍ april, access‌ to details gathered ‌by Space Delta 9, the U.S. unit specializing ⁤in orbital operations, ‌was largely restricted to American personnel with top-secret clearance, ⁣the⁤ report stated.

The decision to share this intelligence comes amid growing concerns in Washington about the rapid development of new space capabilities by both Beijing and Moscow.China, in particular, is investing heavily ​in intelligence gathering, raising fears that it could use its space assets to monitor U.S. troop movements in the event of a conflict.

“We have to⁤ be prepared to fight that fight that nobody wants to have,” said Col.‌ Ramsey Horn, commander of Space Delta 9.
