A Cosmic Setlist
A new 360° experience, The Beatles around the Universe, debuted on January 2, offering an immersive musical journey accompanied by spectacular FullDome visuals. The one-hour show features a carefully curated setlist of iconic Beatles tracks, including “Let It Be,” “Yesterday,” “Here Comes the Sun,” “Come Together,” “Help!,” “I Want to Hold Your Hand,” “All You Need Is Love,” “Love Me Do,” “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds,” “Yellow Submarine,” “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,” “Strawberry Fields Forever,” “Eleanor Rigby,” and “Across the Universe.”
Beaming “Across the Universe” to the Stars
The connection between the Beatles and space exploration runs deeper than just inspiring imagery. In 2008, to commemorate the band’s 50th anniversary, NASA utilized it’s Deep Space Network to transmit “Across the Universe” into outer space. The signal traveled at approximately 300,000 kilometers per second toward Polaris, a star located 433 light-years from Earth.
Paul McCartney responded with enthusiasm to the initiative, stating, “Fascinating! well done NASA, send my love to the aliens.”
A History of Celestial Soundscapes
This wasn’t NASA’s first foray into using The Beatles’ music in space. Previously, “Here comes the Sun” was employed as a wake-up call for astronauts while in orbit, demonstrating the uplifting and universally appealing nature of the band’s work.
An Unmissable FullDome Experience
Produced by USACH Planetarium, The Beatles around the Universe is positioned as a must-see for fans of the band, widely regarded as one of the most influential groups in Western popular music. The show offers a unique and immersive way to experience their music and legacy.
