Alex freeman Transfers to Villarreal from Orlando City
Alex Freeman, a contender for a spot on teh United States World Cup roster this year, joined LaLiga club Villarreal on Thursday. He moves from MLS side Orlando City in a significant step for the 21-year-old.
Freeman is the son of former NFL All-Pro wide receiver Antonio freeman. He earned his first cap for the U.S. national team in May during a match against Turkey.
He’s made 13 appearances for the national team, scoring twice in a November kind against Uruguay. Freeman earned playing time while Sergiño Dest recovered from a torn ACL.
