The rumors sparked widespread discussion and congratulations for UAH, leading him to address the situation in a video posted to his YouTube channel, Adi Hidayat Official, on Tuesday.
“I want to clarify that the issue is not true,” UAH stated in the video. “I want to emphasize that the issue regarding the appointment, inauguration, or any other term related to the presidential staff position is not true. I believe ther are many other individuals who are more qualified and have a broader outlook for this position.”
UAH expressed his preference for supporting positive programs that promote social welfare, justice, and benefit society. He also emphasized the importance of providing constructive feedback on issues, even those that might potentially be controversial, in a manner that fosters understanding and positive change.
This clarification comes after Miftah Maulana Habiburrahman, known as Gus Miftah, resigned from his position as the President’s Special envoy for Religious Harmony and Religious Facility Development on December 6th. His resignation followed a viral video showing him making light of a street vendor selling iced tea during a religious gathering.
In his resignation proclamation, Gus Miftah stated, “Today, with humility, sincerity, and deep consideration, I announce my decision to resign from my position as the President’s Special Envoy for Religious Harmony and Religious Facility Development.”
