Utah Hockey Club Players Walk to Game After Bus Stuck in Toronto Traffic
Utah Hockey Club Faces Travel Woes in Toronto
On November 25, 2024, the Utah Hockey Club encountered delays due to traffic while traveling to their game against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The team’s bus was stuck, forcing players to leave the vehicle and walk to Scotiabank Arena. Player Maveric Lamoureux stated that the bus was “not moving at all.”
Traffic congestion in Toronto was heightened by the annual Santa Claus parade, which closed several city streets that day. Despite the difficulties, the Maple Leafs secured a 3-2 victory, marking their fourth consecutive win.
The incident drew attention from Ontario Premier Doug Ford, who described the traffic issues as “embarrassing” and “unacceptable.” He mentioned plans to improve city traffic flow through bike lane legislation.
This was not the first case of travel troubles in Toronto. In June, former One Direction member Niall Horan also had to walk through heavy traffic to reach his concert at Scotiabank Arena.
