Utah State Cross Country Team Qualifies for NCAA Championships
Utah State’s men’s cross country team has qualified for the NCAA Division I National Championships for the fifth time in program history. This is their first appearance since 2022. The selection announcement took place on Saturday afternoon during the NCAA DI selection show.
Utah State received an at-large bid after placing fourth in the NCAA Mountain Region Championships with 137 points in the 10K race. This ties their all-time best regional placement. The team will compete alongside New Mexico and Wyoming from the Mountain West Conference on November 23 at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course in Verona, Wisconsin.
Graduate Camren Todd led the Aggies, finishing 14th with a time of 29:39.3, earning all-region honors. The women’s team placed ninth with a total score of 267 points, led by senior Emma Thornley, who finished 22nd in 20:17.0, also earning all-region honors.
The 2024 Division I Cross Country National Championships will be broadcast on ESPNU. The women’s 6K race starts at 8:10 a.m., followed by the men’s 10K race at 9:10 a.m. (MT).
