UVM Health Network to Maintain Dialysis Clinics in Vermont Amid Ownership Transition
Update on Dialysis Clinics in Vermont
The dialysis clinics in Newport, Rutland, and St. Albans will continue to provide care as the University of Vermont Health Network (UVMHN) transitions management and ownership. This decision follows legal orders from the Green Mountain Care Board (GMCB).
North Country Hospital, Northwestern Medical Center, and Rutland Regional Medical Center are in discussions with UVMHN. Their aim is to ensure that dialysis services remain accessible to patients in these areas.
This transition is in the early stages and requires approval from regulatory bodies. The hospitals hope that the GMCB will recognize the need for continued dialysis care and balance the needs of both patients and healthcare providers.
UVMHN will manage the clinics during this process. Patients do not need to take any action at this time. Updates will be provided as they become available.
