Osan City⁣ Expands COVID-19 Vaccination Eligibility

Osan City Public Health Center has announced the expansion of the number of people eligible⁣ for free COVID-19 vaccination‍ during the 24-25 season. The vaccination program, which began⁢ on November 11th, initially targeted the elderly over 65 years of age, those hospitalized ​or residents of facilities​ vulnerable ​to infection, and individuals with weakened immune systems.

However,⁢ starting​ this month, the‍ eligibility criteria have been‍ expanded to include medical‍ personnel such as doctors,⁢ dentists, and oriental medicine‍ doctors, as well as ‍workers⁣ in facilities‍ vulnerable to infection, including nursing hospitals, as⁣ specified in the Social ⁣Welfare Services Act and‌ individual laws.

Effective ⁢Vaccines Against ⁤Domestically Prevalent Mutations

The COVID-19 vaccine used for the 24-25 seasonal vaccination is the new JN.1 vaccine (Moderna, Pfizer, Novavax), which is effective against domestically prevalent mutations. Eligible individuals can conveniently receive their‍ desired vaccine at a nearby hospital or clinic, regardless of their place of residence.

Ko Dong-hoon, director of the public health ⁢center,⁤ emphasized ⁢the‍ importance of vaccination for medical workers and those in facilities vulnerable to infection.⁢ “We hope that workers at⁤ medical institutions ‍and facilities vulnerable to infection will actively participate in the free vaccination ⁤and work hard ⁤to prevent the‌ spread of COVID-19.”
