Rome – In a significant departure from tradition, Maison Valentino will unveil its Fall/Winter 2026-27 collection in Rome on , foregoing the customary Paris Fashion Week schedule. The decision, announced by the Italian luxury house, marks a symbolic return to its origins and a strategic shift prioritizing its Roman identity.

The runway show will be held at the historic Palazzo Barberini, a 17th-century architectural masterpiece designed by Baroque masters such as Bernini and Borromini. This location was selected by Valentino’s creative director, Alessandro Michele, to provide a backdrop that complements his maximalist and esoteric aesthetic. It will be the first fashion show ever held at the Palazzo Barberini, according to reports.

Valentino’s founder, Valentino Garavani, and his business partner, Giancarlo Giammetti, established the house in Rome in 1960. Michele, himself a Roman native, has consistently cited the city as a primary source of inspiration. This show represents his first major presentation in Rome since assuming the creative helm in 2024.

Following a ‘Fireflies’ collection and a ‘Specula Mundi’ couture show in Paris, the event is anticipated to be a more intimate and culturally grounded reflection on Italian craftsmanship.
