Norris Reflects on Intense Battle With Piastri

The McLaren duo exchanged positions in the first half of the race, with Norris ultimately defending his lead.Piastri closed to within two seconds in the final laps, but Norris held on for the win.
Norris described the battle as tough but enjoyable. “We had a great battle, that’s for sure,” Norris said. “it was a lot of fun-for me, a lot of stress but a lot of fun! A nice battle, so well done to Oscar. Hopefully it was a nice one for everyone to watch, but inside the car it was obviously tough, especially when he was in DRS.”
He added that once he managed to break the DRS gap, he could manage the race effectively, though Piastri remained quick.
Unlike their previous encounter in Canada, where contact led to Piastri crashing, both drivers maintained composure for a clean race in Austria.
