Car‌ Cam Direct ⁤Shot:⁤ Van Hits Mother-in-Law in Siu Sai ‍Wan, Police Investigate Dangerous Driving

A traffic accident ⁢occurred‌ on Siu Sai Wan Road yesterday evening, where an elderly woman pushing a trolley full of cartons and other items was hit‌ by⁣ a van ⁣and fell onto the pavement. Accident Details

Police‌ received ⁣a complaint at 6.11pm yesterday that⁢ a 37-year-old man ‌driving a light truck was⁢ driving eastbound along Siu Sai Wan ‍Road in Chai Wan near Fuk⁣ Hong Street and was suspected of hitting ⁣a⁢ 72-year-old ​woman who⁣ was walking by with a ‍trolley. When police were called to the scene, the woman ⁣suffered injuries to her limbs and ​was taken to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital⁢ for treatment in a conscious state.

Consequences of Dangerous Driving

The police stressed that dangerous driving behavior seriously endangers the⁢ safety of other road users. Once convicted, the maximum ‌penalty⁣ is 3⁣ years ⁤in prison and a ⁢fine of ⁢NT$25,000.​ If ⁤you are⁣ convicted for the first time, your license will be suspended for at least 6 months. If you are convicted again, your license will be ‍suspended for at least 2 years.
